rechargable devices are a trap

One thing that that has come up recently is the idea of a device you can recharge. On the surface this is great because it is convenient, however I think this is a bit of a trap.

When the battery eventually degrades, it is often hard to replace the battery, and even if you can, it is usually a custom fit. Using a standard AA rechargeable battery on the other hand has many benefits.

• It is universal
• You can carry pre-charged backups
• They are easy to replace
• There are recycling stations for duds
• A little better for the environment

This is really a note to myself, stop buying devices that are rechargeable, and instead try to find an alternative that takes standard batteries.
