chinese room

Thought experiment.

Imagine a person in a room with no knowledge of chinese, but with a rulebook on converting characters. Anyone outside would not be able to tell if they understand it.

This is used as an argument to show a computer program cannot have a mind.

I came across this while reading the Blindsight.

One interesting point is that any singular brain cell does not know a language, and could be said to just follow rules.

Does this make the human mind an illusion, and is similar to a program execution?
